One of the many things that I love about Lush is that the company releases seasonal products, always ensuring that its range remains fresh and innovative for its loyal audience, which obviously encourages people like me to regularly pay my local store a visit. Easter is one of my favourite times of year for its seasonal range and I have previously bought so many things from there including one of my favourites, the Bouncing Bunny shower jelly. So when I was invited to a Lush bloggers event to view the new additions to its range and a few dedicated to Mother’s Day (I’m obviously a little late posting this, oops), I knew that I couldn’t turn down the chance. Of course, I absolutely had to dedicate this week’s post to the products, too.
The staff of Lush are renowned for their friendliness and on arrival, we were greeted with orange drinks served in champagne flutes and gorgeous cupcakes from Cardiff’s own Blanche Bakery, which seemed to be the perfect partnership for the occasion given that it’s a vegan brand. With a drink in hand and my cake devoured in less than a few minutes, I started on what myself and fellow Welsh blogger, Katie, could only describe as a personalised shopping experience of Lush, hearing about all of the new product ranges and the staff were also happy to suggest other products that would meet our requirements throughout the store. But with that little background in mind, here are a few of the seasonal products we got to hear about.
Golden Egg Bath BombLet’s start with a returning favourite – the Golden Egg bath bomb melt. Priced at £4.95, this product is truly something to bring a little sparkle to your life, especially if you have a magpie mentality. It has a sweet scent of orange and honey but the cocoa butter leaves a moisturising feel on your skin so your skin can look shimmery and feel soft. This is definitely a product for the glitter lovers of the world but I can imagine it makes quite a mess so be prepared for the cleanup!
Bunch of Carrots Bubble BarThis is a perfect product for Easter and the bunny lovers of the world, but this reusable bubble bar is said to be a real mood booster, with ingredients including Sicilian lemon, bergamot and buchu oils to give you a little extra lift. Priced at £6.50, you could get multiple uses out of this little bunch, which helps to make this a great Easter treat, whether you’re trying to avoid all of the chocolate or not.
Cream Egg Bubble BarA real focus has been put on the appearance of the Cream Egg bubble bar, coming in three different designs: circles, marbled or spotty. However, all three share the same spearmint and cocoa butter scent, with the mint refreshing the skin and the cocoa offering a softening element. To me, this smelt very much like a mint chocolate Aero, which sounds like something I’d definitely want to bathe in, with the bubbles included of course. Priced at £3.75, this is a product that’s firmly on my wishlist for Easter – but of course, I’d want the pink circles design.
Wash Behind Your Ears Shampoo BarI’ve spoken highly of the Lush shampoo bars previously, and they’re certainly something I would re-purchase time and time again. This is why I was so excited about the egg-cellent addition for Easter – Wash Behind Your Ears. Priced at £6.50 with adorable little rabbit ears as a decoration, this product contains detoxifying products including carrot and lemon oils to help your hair find its shine but also cleanses your scalp with the cider vinegar, helping to balance your hair’s natural oils. I’ll certainly be purchasing this one in my next Lush haul. But a top tip, if you choose to buy a shampoo bar, make sure you buy the round tin for £2.50 to store it in as things can get pretty messy otherwise.
Which Came First? Bath BombA clever play on the chicken or the egg conundrum, this colourful bath bomb is packed full of citrus scents, including Sicilian lemon and grapefruit oil to completely refresh your skin. This is a bath bomb that I’d probably use in the morning to kickstart your skin and your day as I feel like it would be incredibly uplifting. Plus, it’s packed with a little surprise for you – inside the egg is another little bath bomb in the shape of a chick. So for £6.95, you can get at least two uses out of this product and would be great if you needed that little pick-me-up before a long day.
Here Comes The Sun Naked Shower CreamLush has been introducing more plastic-free products, especially over the last few years and although I have got behind most of them, I remain a little uncertain of the naked shower gels. However, the brand has recently added another to this range, inspired by one of the most uplifting Beatles songs, Here Comes The Sun. This product matches this upbeat attitude with its ingredients of bergamot oil and orange juice to help blast away bleak Winter skin. It also contains shea butter, mushrooms and avocado oil to moisturise the skin, helping you to prepare for those Spring mornings. For £9.75, this product is said to last for quite a few uses, so expect to get your money’s worth while you help to reduce your plastic usage.
